Creative Arts Center of Dallas will kick off their year-long 50th anniversary celebration honoring CAC’s founder, artist Octavio Medellin. The opening reception for The Legacy of Octavio Medellin: A Survey of His Work & Influence will not only commence the retrospective exhibit but will also serve to launch an exciting calendar of CAC events commemorating 50 years of operation in Dallas.
Latino Cultural Center’s new exposition will showcase a comprehensive look at Medellin’s multi-medium artistic works and will highlight the legacy and influence he left behind.
Leaders from the Creative Arts Center will be in attendance to reveal exciting information about their upcoming 2016 programming, including details of their signature annual fundraising event, the Blue Plate Special. CAC will also announce new funding and partnerships, as well as updates to their popular outreach programs slated to be revitalized in 2016, such as Art as a Second Language, unseenamerica, ArtAbility and Camp MetalHead.
