The Corporate Work Study Program Partnership of Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep will present Gunnar Rawlings as the third annual recipient of its Ignite Award. Rawlings will be recognized at the Cristo Rey Dallas CEO Breakfast, chaired by Deborah Gibbins and Scott Moore. Additionally, the third annual Grit Award will be awarded to a Cristo Rey Dallas student who exemplifies perseverance in the workplace, classroom and beyond.
In 2015, Rawlings helped launch Cristo Rey Dallas, an innovative new high school serving the needs of economically disadvantaged students across North Texas. From leading the feasibility study that laid the groundwork for the college prep high school, to recruiting businesses to join the school’s Corporate Work Study Program and spearheading the school’s initial fundraising campaign, Rawlings was an integral part of establishing the early success of Cristo Rey Dallas. After serving as the first executive director of the school’s Corporate Work Study Program, Rawlings joined Suffolk Construction, as Government Affairs & Business Development Manager. A passionate supporter of Cristo Rey Dallas, Rawlings continues to advocate for the school through his many community engagements.
