The Dallas Arboretum will open their newest permanent feature, the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden, on September 21. The Garden is designed for preschool to middle school children to address the state and national standards for life and earth science. It's an eight-acre laboratory with 17 outdoor and indoor galleries, each designed around a key science theme. It includes many hands-on exhibits, real plants and animals, boardwalks through grass tunnels, a full-acre wetlands, the Texas Skywalk through the tree canopy and under a waterfall and a “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” world where everything is giant-sized. There is also an indoor plant lab and discovery center with a 3-D mini theater.
