Photographs made by the Booker T. Washington High School of Performing and Visual Arts Dance and Media class will be featured in the exhibition, "Photography and Dance."
In the spring semester of 2021, DCP collaborated with the Booker T. Washington Dance and Media class in a workshop to explore the topic of photography and dance. Prompted by weekly assignments, students created captivating images representing not what dance looks like to other people but what dance feels like to them.
The "Photography and Dance" exhibition is the culmination of that work. Accompanied by Dance and Media class instructor Alex Karigan Farrior, participating students were Bryn Bohanan, Riley Canterbury, Sloan Daley, Tamar Gabelev, Khyla Hassell, Madison Malonson, Kennedy Morrison, Mia Murphy, Lindsey Nikolai, and Olivia Wilson.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 31.
