Dallas College CAED Galleries will present "Colonia," the solo exhibition of Hector A. Ramirez which features several multimedia works including painting, readymade sculpture, video, and sound works.

Ramirez looks at the world around him with a certain sense of playfulness. Taking inspiration from his life experiences in El Paso, he offers an ironic take on how cultural icons interact, blend, and evolve in the everyday. The artist often remixes familiar aspects of Mexican American identity with pop culture to create humorous and unexpected situations.
