The Dallas Green Alliance, a Political Action Committee (PAC) created to provide campaign funds and support for environmentally friendly Dallas City Council candidates, will host Gather for Common Ground, a festive evening of cuisine and conversation at the posh Casa Stellina.
The keynote speaker is former Councilwoman Angela Hunt, who has been a strong voice of opposition to the Trinity Toll Road. On hand to support the efforts of the PAC cause and celebrate locally driven foods are Chef Graham Dodds of Hibiscus, Chef Mark Wootton of Garden Café, and Chef David Temple of Restaurant 27 in Deep Ellum.
The Dallas Green Alliance PAC began organizing in June 2014 with the goal of trying to win a majority of open council races in May 2015. Six of the 15 council positions have no incumbent running. If new “green” candidates win four out of these six open races they would join four existing ‘green’ council members (Sandy Greyson, Scott Griggs, Philip Kingston, and Adam Medrano) to become an environmentally friendly majority of eight.
