Dallas Historical Society will present their spring fundraiser, an evening of film, live music, food and dancing. The history of Texas honky tonks and its music is rich and this is sure to be a historic evening of pure Texas entertainment.
The party will begin in the Margaret and Al Hill Lecture Hall with the documentary, Honky Tonk Heaven: The Legend of the Broken Spoke, in partnership with Dallas Film Society, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and the colorful Texas couple who have kept Broken Spoke open for more than 50 years. Then, the party will move upstairs to the Great Hall for a book signing of The Broken Spoke- Austin's Legendary Honky Tonk by Donna Marie Miller. DVDs of the film will also be on hand to purchase.
The fun, local, Texas country band Eleven Hundred Springs will provide music live music for attendees listening and two-steppin' pleasure. Broken Spoke inspired food and libations, including Lone Star Beer, will be served.
