Eleanor Roosevelt has a rich legacy – as first lady of the United States, a champion of social change, and a prolific writer. But much of her influential work came after she left the White House. As the world grappled with the aftermath of a global war and a devastating genocide, Roosevelt became an outspoken leader in the fight for human rights and democratic reform, both at home and abroad.

Dr. Allida M. Black, a leading expert on Eleanor Roosevelt and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, will discuss how Roosevelt worked tirelessly to advance human rights around the world.
