Guggenheim Fellow and author Anna Badkhen kicks off the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture’s new literary series “Letters and Spirits” with a discussion of her new essay collection, “Bright Unbearable Reality,” long-listed for the National Book Award for nonfiction.

Badkhen seeks what separates and binds us. Her book of 11 essays set on four continents addresses the human condition in a time of unprecedented dislocation.

The event begins with an author meet-and-greet, where guests can enjoy craft mocktails, cocktails, and light bites. An author-led discussions of the book will be followed by a moderated Q&A with the author.
