At home in the States, Rocky Braat was unmotivated and unsure what to do with his life. But after a trip to India and a visit to an orphanage for children struggling with AIDS and HIV, he found his calling. Witnessing first-hand the dire situation these kids faced every day, Rocky discovered an innate ability within himself to care for these inspiring children. He moved from Pittsburgh to the South Indian city of Chennai, where he has stayed for over five years, striving to give hope and a reason to keep fighting.

In Blood Brother, director Steve Hoover, Rocky’s best friend and former schoolmate, captures the rawness of life in the orphanage, where Rocky serves as a live-in caretaker, teacher, amateur dentist, friend and father.
