Dallas International Film Festival presents Spring Preview Weekend
The DIFF Spring Preview is a weekend series featuring film premieres, film festival favorites, and upcoming new releases from around the world. The preview sets the stage for the full Dallas International Film Festival this fall, giving fans a first feel for programming at the broader festival.
The preview includes opening night film Cha Cha Real Smooth, written and directed by Dallas native Cooper Raiff. The film was the audience winner at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and was produced by and stars Dakota Johnson alongside Raiff, Leslie Mann, and Brad Garrett.
Other films include Happening, which won the grand jury prize at the 2021 Venice Film Festival; Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story, a documentary that captures the signature annual music and cultural event called America’s greatest festival in all of its beauty and glory; Corsicana, directed by and starring Isaiah Washington as Deputy United States Marshal Bass Reeves, who reunites with a former partner turned fugitive, and an ex-Union sharpshooter; and Bad Axe, a documentary that is a real-time portrait of 2020 as it unfolded for an Asian-American family in Trump’s rural America.
