The Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Art Fair, and NorthPark Center will present a new group exhibition, "Talk of the Town: A Dallas Museum of Art Pop-Up Exhibition." Curated by Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck, the Museum’s Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, to coincide with the 15th edition of the Dallas Art Fair, the show will celebrate and explore the diversity of womanhood through a wide range of artistic perspectives.
"Talk of the Town" assembles recent works by Sarah Awad, Sarah Cain, Johnny Floyd, Danielle Mckinney, Arcmanoro Niles, Maja Ruznic, Keer Tanchak, Evita Tezeno, and Summer Wheat, all of which were acquired by the DMA in the last six years through the Dallas Art Fair Foundation Acquisition Program.
The works explore identity and the female subject by bending conventions of portraiture. The exhibition takes its name from an arresting portrait by Danielle Mckinney, which was acquired as part of the fifth annual acquisition program in 2021.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through April 30.
