As part of its Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival, Uptown Players will present Dishing It Out, written by and starring Paul J. Williams. Williams has long been known not only for his great comedic timing, but also his ability to create recognizable characters as a part of his show. In Dishing It Out, Paul plays six different personas throughout the entire show. Taking place in a Southern cafeteria, the central character is a food server who seems to know everybody who comes through her line. Inevitably, each of these people become the other characters in the show, as we get a glimpse into the daily goings on of the lunchtime patrons of this Southern gathering place. It's a one-man tour de force capitalizing on Williams' creativity and improv abilities, as the audience becomes patrons in the cafeteria as well, interacting with the characters on stage.
