The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has launched Full STEAM Ahead, an initiative designed by a small group of senior women business executives from Capital One, AT&T and Texas Instruments, and local Dallas leaders, to promote arts education and equal opportunity in the world of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). Full STEAM Ahead will build advocates for the arts, and provide girls access to and opportunities for education initiatives that integrate arts and technology.

Full STEAM Ahead will kick off with a benefit concert hosted by Matrice Ellis-Kirk featuring the women of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Principal Guest Conductor Gemma New (Dolores G. & Lawrence S. Barzune, M.D. Chair) will lead a performance featuring Jessie Montgomery's Starburst for strings, Vivaldi's Concerto in F major “Autumn” from The Four Seasons, J. Strauss Jr.'s Pizzicato Polka, and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, “Italian.”
