The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Fabio Luisi, will present an opera-in-concert version of Wagner’s epic Der Ring des Nibelungen (the Ring cycle) in its entirety, becoming the first American orchestra in recent history to do so.

In the shattering, world-ending conclusion of The Ring, the golden ring is finally restored to its rightful owners. It features Siegfried’s Rhine Journey, the stentorian Calling of the Vassals, Siegfried’s gripping Funeral March, and Brünnhilde’s tragic Immolation as she joins her beloved on a funeral pyre whose sparks set Valhalla on fire.

In the most dramatic vision Wagner ever conceived of and created in music, the Rhine overflows its banks and washes away the reign of the corrupt gods. A transfigured new world has begun. The impact of this zenith of 19th century Romantic opera will imprint itself on your memory as the experience of a lifetime.

The concert will be performed with English supertitles. The full Ring cycle will be presented starting on Sunday, October 13.
