The Dallas Theater Center Guild will present The Preston and Mary Sue Jones Readings: Sister. Sister was a hit play from Dallas Theater Center’s 1962-63 season, written by former Dallas Theater Center Resident Artist Glenn Allen Smith.
Sister is the dramatic story of a woman evangelist in Los Angeles in the 1930s. Her charismatic presence along with her dramatized sermons and miracles filled her temple with thousands of adoring, faithful followers. Offstage, however, turmoil and accusations swirled with rumors of improprieties and scandals.
The reading will feature Diana Sheehan as Sister, Randall Bonifay, Bruce Coleman, Bradley Campbell, Cheryl Denson, Robyn Flatt, Elly Lindsay, David Lugo, Nancy Munger, Paul Munger, Synthia Rogers, Babs Ipaye, and Jodi Wright.
A panel discussion chaired by Kevin Moriarty will follow the reading.
