Dallas Theater Center will present the new musical The Fortress of Solitude, the story of two boys, one white, one black, growing up in 1970s America. It is the story of a friendship spanning the '80s and '90s, of soul and rap, disco and funk, block parties and black-outs, prison and college, Brooklyn and Berkeley, murder and redemption. And it is the story of what would happen if two teenagers obsessed with superheroes believed they could fly …

The production is co-produced by New York's The Public Theater.
