Dallas VideoFest will present The Age of Reason. It's summertime. High school's over. But Oz and Freddy still don't know what to do with their lives. Oz wants to skip town and try out for major league baseball, but can’t leave his little sister with his alcoholic father.

Two days before tryouts, Ruby moves in. And after accidentally crashing their archrival's car on the new family's lawn, Ruby falls for Oz, while her stepfather, Frank, makes it his personal mission to stop these thugs from destroying his property. To make matters worse, Robert, Oz's single father, won't let him leave. Someone has to take care of Kayli, Oz's younger sister, and help pay the mortgage on the house now that Robert's been laid off.

It's time for Oz to live in the real world. In what may be their last hours together, Oz and Freddy rebel against friends, family, and each other while trying to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives.
