In the tradition of modernist photographers Edward Westin, Minor White, and Margaret Bourke-White, photography duo Morgan Page and Dustin Rice have traveled thousands of miles around Texas to capture the natural textures and patterns in Texas’ landscape, as well as the stark contrast in the dilapidation that these things left behind give to it.
During this talk, Page and Rice will share their photographic journey that resulted in the "Bones of Texas" project and exhibition. They will be joined by historian Dr. Holle Humphries and guide Oliver Loving IV, who both helped them shape this project.
"Bones of Texas" will be on display in the DCP Community Gallery. Each photograph in the exhibition will be accompanied by placards that weave stories of personal emotion and forgotten presence and absence in and around the remaining architecture.
