Dallas Historical Society will present a happy hour to learn about the unique history of one of Dallas’ most iconic places, State & Allen. Come socialize, help support a local business, eat, and "drink in" local history in a fun, relaxed, and enjoyable setting.

Judy Hearst, a State Thomas resident, will be discussing the history of the State Thomas area. Attendees may take a self-guided tour of the historical places in the area after the happy hour.

The State Thomas neighborhood contains the largest collection of Victorian-era homes remaining in Dallas including the Jacob and Eliza Spake House listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The establishment of the region as a Special Purpose District in 1986 helped make it one of the first new urbanist regions in the city.
