DHV Artworks will present "What Lingers Beneath: A Dialogue In Layers," the Dallas debut of Swiss-born, Los Angeles-based artist Peter Scherrer.
Known for his richly layered abstract paintings, Scherrer explores the emotional and psychological dimensions of memory, perception, and transformation. Each painting begins with a vibrant yellow base, his signature starting point, and is built up through a process of layering, scraping, and restructuring, resulting in compositions that feel both spontaneous and deeply intentional.
Scherrer’s use of grids, color fields, and hidden design elements reflects his foundation in graphic design while pushing into the realm of expressive abstraction.The exhibition also features a special collection of Scherrer’s beloved Ducky Doodles - humorous, heartfelt 5x7-inch works that began as a daily pandemic ritual and have since become collector favorites.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through August 2.
