King: A Life by Jonathan Eig is the first major biography in decades of the civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., and the first to include recently declassified FBI files. In this revelatory new portrait of the preacher and activist, Eig presents an MLK for our times: a deep thinker, a brilliant strategist, and a committed radical who led one of history’s greatest movements, and whose demands for racial and economic justice remain as urgent today as they were in his lifetime.

Eig is the bestselling author of Ali: A Life, winner of a 2018 PEN America Literary Award and named by Esquire as one of the 25 greatest biographies of all time. Eig served as consulting producer for the PBS series Muhammad Ali, which was directed by Ken Burns.

Eig will be in conversation with Byron Sanders, President and CEO of Big Thought, an impact, youth-aligned organization closing the opportunity gap by equipping youth with skills to create.
