As part of DMA Arts & Letters Live, Tommy Orange will be in conversation with Albert Old Crow of KNON's "Beyond Bows and Arrows."

Wandering Stars, the follow-up to Orange’s Pulitzer Prize finalist There There, traces the legacies of the Sand Creek Massacre of 1864 and the Carlisle Industrial School for Indians through to the shattering aftermath of Orvil Redfeather’s shooting in There There.

Extending his constellation of narratives into Colorado in 1864 and Oakland in 2018, Orange delivers a story that is by turns shattering and wondrous, a book piercing in its poetry, sorrow, and rage, and a devastating indictment of America’s war on its own people.

Orange is a graduate of the MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts. An enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, he was born and raised in Oakland, California.
