Echo Theatre presents playwright Leslie Ayvazian's heart-warming comedy, High Dive, a one-woman show co-starring the audience. We all encounter at least one pivotal moment in life where we find ourselves standing on the edge of new and perhaps terrifying possibilities, and we ask ourselves, "What the heck have I gotten myself into?" This decisive moment, this opportunity to take a leap of faith, is at the crux of Echo's February production.
An American woman, played by one of Dallas' fiercest actors, Kristin McCollum, finds herself poolside in Greece celebrating her 50th birthday with her family. While terrified of heights, she accepts her daughter's dare to jump off the high dive, and it is there she finds herself somewhat paralyzed in contemplation of all that has been and what might be.
This production (all about taking risks) invites the audience to jump in and play various characters in the show from their "poolside" seats. Rest easy, only those who agree to volunteer will participate.
