The Paul Taylor Dance Company, presented in partnership with the UT Dallas School of Arts & Humanities, is one of the world’s most highly respected and sought-after ensembles. Dance maker Paul Taylor first presented his choreography with five other dancers in Manhattan on May 30, 1954. That modest performance marked the beginning of 60 years of unrivaled creativity, and in the decades that followed, Taylor became a cultural icon.
The program will include the Dallas premiere of Diggity (1978), Beloved Renegade (2008) and Cloven Kingdom (1976). The Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company will be in residency with dancers in the UT Dallas School of Arts & Humanities for 10 days, culminating in the showcase performance on February 7, prior to the public performance by the main company.
