Encore Park kicks off its first year of programming in its new 508 Amphitheater with a free lunchtime concert to honor two significant and overlapping anniversaries: Juneteenth’s 150th anniversary and the dates music history was made in Dallas when blues legend Robert Johnson recorded at 508 Park on June 19 and 20, 1937.

There will be free, public lunchtime concert featuring acoustic blues musicians Rev. KM Williams and Joel Foy. Williams is a modern version of Old School Texas Country Bluesmen like Lightnin’ Hopkins and Blind Lemon Jefferson. Foy has shared the stage with a variety of rhythm and blues artists including former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, B.B. King’s pianist Duke Jethro, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and more.

Event-goers are encouraged bring their own lunch. Coolers are welcome. Carry-out is available from nearby restaurant Green Door Dallas (214-749-0240). Chairs will be provided. No alcohol or pets allowed.
