The AT&T Performing Arts Center, in partnership with KERA, will present An Evening With Ken Burns featuring an onstage conversation and sneak preview of The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, a new seven-part, 14-hour documentary by Ken Burns, premiering September 14, 2014 on KERA and nationwide on PBS. The film weaves the stories of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of one of the most prominent and influential families in American politics. The series marks the first time their individual stories have been woven into a single narrative.

Burns has been making films for more than 30 years. Since the Academy Award-nominated Brooklyn Bridge in 1981, Ken has gone on to direct and produce some of the most acclaimed historical documentaries ever made. His most widely known documentaries include The Civil War, The National Parks: American’s Best Idea and Prohibition. Ken’s films have won 10 Emmy Awards and two Oscar nominations, and he was honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
