Fine Arts Chamber Players present Basically Beethoven, a concert series featuring professional musicians and elite student musicians from Dallas-Fort Worth. This concert showcases the Grand Prize Winner from the SMU Institute for Young Pianists. The feature performance, The Great Outdoors, features pianists Evan Mitchell and Jonathan Tsay performing famous works transcribed for "piano four hands" - two pianists sharing the same instrument. The duo takes the audience through "the great outdoors" with Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and Beethoven's bucolic Symphony No. 6, "Pastoral," as well as Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Rossini's William Tell Overture.
