Flamenco Fever presents Paella y Pasion, featuring live dance and music performances by local studios and fresh paella prepared on the spot by local chefs.
Paella y Pasion has been moved to spring as a stand-alone event to build new audiences, create flamenco momentum, and raise much needed funds for the Oak Cliff Flamenco Festival 2021 in early September. It is also the finale of the 6th annual 'Flamenco de Mayo' series that provides low-cost performances for festivals, restaurants, and schools that want to celebrate Hispanic culture near the Cinco de Mayo Holiday.
Bowls of paella will be available for $20 and come paired with a silk flower, polka dot scarf or fan to help patrons get in the flamenco mood. Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for this picnic-style event. The stage area is free to enter. For those who do not plan to enjoy the cooking demonstration, they can still enjoy the performance. A donation is requested.
This event is outdoors and will feature hand sanitizing stations and social distancing signage to encourage a safe environment. It will take place in TYPO Park at the northeast corner of Tyler and Polk behind Tiny Victories.
