In addition to Flea Style's biannual curated pop-up markets in Dallas and Houston, the business is adding a conference for creatives to its docket.
Flea Style Summit is a one-day event that aims to inspire creative thinkers and tastemakers with panels, small group discussions, art workshops, interactive activities, meals and more. Panelists are flying in from all over the country and will include notable artisans and personalities like Jennifer Harrison (Flea Market Fab), Kate Levering (Actress/Cruel Intentions on NBC this fall), Ashley Rose (Sugar + Cloth), Jen Coleman and Laura Wiertzema (Ascot + Hart & Target Does it Again), Melinda Jones (Read Between the Lines), Taylor Madison (The Simple Sol), Jenny Grumbles (Storage Wars Texas/Uptown Country Home) and Lauren Essl (Blue Eye Brown Eye).
Panel topics will range from helpful and practical topics like social media and photography tips to inspiring startup stories. For more hands on sessions, Flea Style’s show vendors – Bedthread, Boho by Lauren, Oh Deerly Floral – will teach creative workshops spanning from indigo dyeing to modern embroidery. Austin’s Mood by Moss is bringing their nomadic yurt portrait studio for aura photos and readings. And there will also be a retail area featuring panelists’ goods including Moroccan pillows, art prints, shabby chic accessories and travel photography.
For now, Flea Style plans to host the conference twice each year and will eventually take the summit on the road to further connect with its growing national audience.
