The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's will start its 2013-14 season with a visit to South Africa. Listen for hints of Zulu music as they perform Henry Lissant-Collins' Fuquoi in the Sugar Cane, one of South Africa's most well-known orchestral works. The FWSO will introduce its newest Composer-in-Residence, Irishman Donnacha Dennehy, with his song-cycle That the Night Comes, based on the poetry of Yeats; and close with two ever-popular Strauss compositions, Der Rosenkavalier Suite and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks.
