On All Saints Sunday, First United Methodist Church of Dallas will host a city-wide service remembering those who have died in our neighborhood, specifically on the streets. This candlelight service will feature music by the Chancel Choir and Variations Youth Choir.
This multi-faith service is open to the public and will join the following urban religious institutions and non-profit partners:
- First Presbyterian Church of Dallas
- First United Methodist Church of Dallas
- Oak Lawn United Methodist Church
- City Square
- Ismaili Jamatkhana
- Valley Ranch Islamic Center
- Temple Shalom
- Austin Street Center
- The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center
- Dallas Arts District
- Thanksgiving Square
- St. Paul UMC
The short supply of housing in Dallas is affecting all demographics, and our non-profit partners are making transitional and sustainable housing accessible to the homeless community at a time when the market demands it most. While they continue to shelter those in need from a housing impact yet to be seen, this All Saints service will remember the departed, reaffirm our unity as one body of faith, and reflect upon our calling to serve our neighbors.
