The Goldmark Cultural Center will presents "Contemplative Dimensions," an exhibition of new ceramic works and photographs by East Texas artist Brandon Jacob Hudson.
The exhibit will showcase ceramic artworks displayed on their own, as photographs, and in combination with each other, creating a new experience of their dimensionality and presence. The exhibition consists of multiple outcomes between the 3D and the 2D, viewed on the walls and on pedestals.
By having this variety of framed ceramic slabs, prints of ceramic surfaces and abstract objects intertwined with photographic prints of themselves, Hudson compares their distinctions and gives the viewer an opportunity to consider this duality of physical objects versus objects through reproduction. He shows an appreciation in both approaches and also explores how the difference in how we experience them engages our sense of vision in a profound way.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 26.
