Haley-Henman Gallery will present Joshua West's second solo exhibition, "I, A stranger." For this exhibition, he focuses on portraiture with abstract elements. While the representational aspects of his work suggests portraits of individuals caught in a moment of time, infused with vivid color and abstract mark making, he suggests the internal and external forces that shape us all. They are not posed studio subjects, but appear as images drawn from the artist's own photography and collected from social media. The transformation of these images from the digital to a painted expression opens the door to view these people as part of us.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 8.
