The theme of this year's Harambee Festival is “Harambee! Keeping it Clean & Green.” Harambee is a Swahili word meaning “Let’s Pull Together” or “Unity.”
While the kids are rock climbing, riding the mechanical bull, in the photo booth, or just enjoying any of the interactive games, the adults can take advantage of the health screenings, job fair, and art expos, and enjoy the live performances.
All volunteers are able to earn community service hours. There will also be a diverse collection of vendors for shopping and specialty cuisines. A portion of the vendor fees will benefit the MLK Jr Community Center Social Services Program.
