Spreading holiday cheer, the Hello Kitty Holiday Kawaii Mart Truck is rolling into West Village. Parked between Magnolia Theatre and Mi Cocina, the truck will offer up a unique selection of gift ideas.
The cute and colorfully wrapped truck from Hello Kitty parent company Sanrio harkens back to the brand’s Japanese roots, and is a nod to the Japanese and American convenience store. The product mix is a tightly curated assortment of giftables for Sanrio superfans. Not only does the truck carry items featuring pop icon Hello Kitty, but also everyone’s favorite lazy egg Gudetama & Netflix sensation Aggretsuko, as well.
Following Sanrio’s ‘small gift, big smile’ philosophy, the first 50 guests at the truck each day will receive a free hot cocoa with purchase of any gift box on the Hello Kitty Holiday Kawaii Mart Truck. Modeled after the surprise bags that were a staple in Sanrio stores in the 1980s and 1990s, the ‘surprise’ Holiday Gift Box from each character is filled with an assortment of themed items ranging from facial sheet masks and socks to stationery items, squish toys, housewares and more. The truck will also sell Hello Kitty, Gudetama and Aggretsuko frosted character cookies, Japanese-inspired ramune (sodas) and a trio of gourmet, flavored popcorn – white cheddar truffle, caramel and chocolate pretzel potato chip flavors.
