Heroes for Children recognizes National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September by bringing Richardson and its surrounding communities together for a family-friendly event honoring the hearts of children fighting cancer.
The fundraiser will open with a commemorative balloon release led by co-founders Jenny Dowen and Larissa Linton, followed by the Fun Run & 5K. The Fun Run & 5K are open to participants of all ages. Entertainment will include a DJ and children’s Adventure Zone featuring games, activities, bounce houses, rock climbing wall and a special area to honor and remember children who have been affected by cancer. The Heart of Gold Fun Run & 5K also promises prizes, awards, giveaways, and food.
