Hip Hop Cowboys rides back into Mesquite with another first - the country's first rodeo to combine gospel and hip hop music with the extreme sport of rodeo.

Heaven & Hooves: Hip Hop Cowboys' Third Annual Spring Rodeo will be hosted by David Mann, best known as Mr. Brown from Tyler Perry's movies, and will also include a special appearance by Tamela Mann, who took home the big prizes at this year's Stellar Gospel Music Awards in January, where she was named Artist of the Year and received seven awards, including one for best female vocalist.

Kid-friendly entertainment will include a calf scramble for a cash prize that children at the event can participate in for free. Also, an exhibition of the best local "kid cowboys" will include mutton bustin', calf riding and junior bull riders.
