Ilume Gallerie presents 100th Gallery Show opening reception

Ilume Gallerie will host an exhibit of the art of Jack Evans, and the gallery works of fine art, photography, and sculpture to celebrate the 100th gallery show since its opening in September 2009.

Evans’ exhibit shows how he playfully created many versions of “Pop-Art”, and painted various enamel and acrylic renditions with vivid colors and mixed media. The anniversary show ushers in Dallas’ Gay Pride Week. Mementos of their union will feature the couple’s Marriage Certificate from Dallas County, various photos, and the letters of honor from President Barack Obama and Dallas Mayor, Mike Rawlings. The octogenarians were pioneers in the Dallas Gay community, from losing their jobs in the 1960’s and forced to hide their relationship to becoming highly successful businessmen in real estate and as activists and inspiring the growth and development of the Dallas Gay community through several decades.

The show will also feature fine art by Mexico City painter and educator Antonio Díaz Cortés, textile art by Louise Kissinger Hall, contemporary acrylic paintings by Ronald Radwanski, whose work will be featured in the upcoming December, 2016 book release International Contemporary Masters, Volume XI, by World- wide Books and abstract oil art by Doris Vasek. The gallery will feature International photography by Dallas Architect Ed Brooks, Charles Messina, and Robert Moore, former publisher of The Dallas Voice. and digital prints by Dallas artist, Philmore Peterson. Also, showing will be the various reclaimed steel works of Dallas sculptor George Tobolowsky.

Following the opening reception, the anniversary show exhibit will be on display through September 17.
