Interabang Books and the USA Film Festival will honor Sally Field in conjunction with the publication of her new memoir, In Pieces. The evening will kick-off with a film clip compilation tribute featuring Field’s film and television works. Field will then take the stage for a conversation moderated by Krys Boyd, the host of KERA’s Think, and take the audience behind the scenes for the highs and lows of her Hollywood career and her lifelong relationships – including her complicated love for her mother.
One of the most celebrated, beloved, and enduring actors of our time, Field has a charm that has captivated the nation for more than five decades, beginning with her first television role at age 17. From Gidget‘s sweet-faced “girl next door” to the dazzling complexity of Sybil to the Academy Award-worthy ferocity and depth of Norma Rae and Mary Todd Lincoln, she has stunned audiences again and again with her artistic range and emotional acuity.
In her powerful, intimate literary memoir In Pieces, Field tells her story for the first time – about a challenging and lonely childhood, the craft that helped her find her voice, and an emotional legacy that shaped her journey as a daughter and a mother. The book reveals the fresh, pitch-perfect prose of a natural-born writer as well as the honesty and humility her fans have come to expect.
The event is Co-Chaired by Nancy Perot, owner of Interabang Books, and Laura Fox Williamson, President, USA Film Festival Board of Directors.
