The 2013 Jewish Film Festival of Dallas will present Fill the Void (Lemale et ha’chalal), which follows 18-year-old Shira, who is the youngest daughter of an Orthodox Hassidic family in Tel Aviv. She is about to be married off to a very promising young man of her own age when her older sister dies tragically in childbirth. When it becomes apparent that her bereaved son-in-law, Yochai, may leave the country with her only grandchild, Shira’s mother proposes a match between Shria and Yochai. Shira is left torn between her personal happiness and her duty to her family.
