Members of the Dallas community, along with more than 1,000 Junior League of Dallas (JLD) members, will have the opportunity to connect with the non-profit agencies the JLD supports and sign up for volunteer commitments at the annual Community Volunteer Fair. The Fair’s main objective is to provide an opportunity for the partner agencies the League supports to connect with potential JLD volunteers and volunteers throughout the Dallas community. The fair is free and open to the public, and potential volunteers from the community are invited to attend.
In addition, children can enjoy Kids in the Kitchen activities thanks to sponsor UnitedHealthcare, including: face painting, board breaking with Pro Martial Arts of Lakewood, balloon artists, a kids yoga demo, personal chef hat decorating, as well as a special appearance by Dallas Cowboys Kicker Dan Bailey. UnitedHealthcare is the Official Community Partner of the Dallas Cowboys. The demonstrations will take place near Mark di Suvero’s monumentally impressive 48-foot-tall, 12-ton Ad Astra, 2005, which fills the two-story NorthCourt in NorthPark Center. Kids in the Kitchen is a Signature Project of the JLD, empowering youth to learn the preparation of healthy meals and educates them and their parents regarding nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
Activities, which will take place in the North court, include:
