Junior Players, in collaboration with Theatre Three, will kick off their 60th anniversary year with a teen production of the Tony and Grammy award-winning musical In the Heights. The cast features 23 students in grades 9-12 from 11 different schools spanning North Texas.

In the Heights presents the universal story of a vibrant immigrant community seeking their 21st century version of the American dream. With Grammy Award-winning music and lyrics as well as a book by 2012 Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes, In The Heights is a cleverly crafted mixture of comedy and heart set to a lusty new beat.

The rich and eclectic score is a joyous mix of hip-hop, rap, jazz, pop, salsa and merengue. Set on the pulsing streets of the vibrant New York neighborhood of Washington Heights, this musical is a non-stop dance spectacular.
