Kettle Art will present "Get Real" a two person surrealist exhibition featuring Duke Horn and Judith Lea Perkins.
Kettle Art co-founder Perkins' graphically oriented, symbolic imagery uses shapes, light, and gestural forms to depict unexpected scenarios. She earned her Associates Degree of Applied Art in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Dallas and has worked in the creative arts field as a scenic artist, muralist, and freelancer since 1993. Her work can be seen throughout North Texas and is popular with many private collectors.
Horn is one of the area's most legendary living artists, having started his career in the late 1960s. Duke has shown nationally and internationally, and shows regularly at the David Dike Gallery. His works for the past 20 years are primarily focused on carnival life and the happiness, joy, sadness and complexities in county fair like atmospheres. His artwork can be found in many public and private collections, including the Dallas Museum of Art.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through October 11.
