Kirk Hopper Fine Art will present Eduardo Portillo's first solo exhibition at the gallery, Allocated Spaces.

Portillo's works encompass more than just installations; with the influence of painting and sculpture playing a pivotal role in his pieces, Portillo strives to combine the various aspects of a wide range of mediums in order to create an evolving body of work that challenges the preconceived notions of what constitutes a "painting" or a "sculpture."

The works on display in Allocated Spaces create a conversation between color and a number of physical variations: form, shape, depth, height, scale, surface area and perhaps even movement by the viewer - all of which are confined within the space of the gallery. Portillo particularly emphasizes the influence of location.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through May 24.
