As part of its 2014 New Works Festival, Kitchen Dog Theater will present Barbeque Apocalypse.

Winner of KDT's New Play Competition, Barbecue Apocalypse tells the story of a highly self-conscious couple who desperately wants to impress their trend-setting, more sophisticated friends at their backyard barbecue. Luckily for them, the world ends during their less-than-spectacular shindig, and survival becomes the only remaining status symbol in this hilarious and timely new comedy from the writer of the award-winning play The Boxer.

Playwright Matt Lyle will be in attendance for the May 23 performance.
