Lafayette Musicians will present their first concert of 2024, Haydn's Creation, and the Fauré’s Racine Cantique. Haydn’s Creation is based on the first two chapters of Genesis. It is the story of God's creation of the world as told by three archangels: Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael. In the last part of this concert, audiences will also discover the creation of Adam and Eve and their first thoughts and talks.
The show will highlight how Joseph Haydn imagined through music the spectacular birth of light, the planets, and nature. His music portrays the creation of animals from the birds in the air to the fish in the sea, from the greatest tigers to the smallest insects.
The Lafayette Musicians Orchestra and Choir will play with soloists including Haley Sicking, David Grogan, and Matthieu du Motier. The Cistercian Boys Choir will sing the main choir arias.
