The July 2015 edition of Late Nights at the DMA will feature the fourth annual Museum Murder Mystery Game as they explore art museum mysteries with talks, films, tours and more.
Among the activities will be:
Mysteries of the Collection - 7 pm
Hear Fran Baas and Laura Hartman give away a few of their secrets as they explore how conservation in the art museum has led them down some mysterious paths, testing their forensic and historical knowledge and leading them to interesting discoveries about a few pieces.
Late Night Main Stage: Little Jack Melody & His Young Turks - 8 pm
Listen to the alt-cabaret sounds of Little Jack Melody & His Young Turks, described by Rolling Stone as “supper-club class and fine surrealist humor. . . . deeply weird, utterly fab.”
Museum Murder Mystery: An Artful Game of Clue - 9-11 pm
The Greek goddess Victory has been murdered! Discover the room where the murder took place, figure out what was used as the murder weapon, and interview key suspects, including Captain John Pratt and Buddha, throughout the Museum. Be the first to solve the mystery and win! Pick up your clue sheet in the Concourse.
Late Night Film: Art and Craft (2014) - 10 pm
When one of the most prolific art forgers in U.S. history is finally exposed, he must confront the legacy of his 30-year con.
Late Night After Hours Music Showcase: Vanessa Peters - 10 pm
Hear Dallas singer-songwriter Vanessa Peters perform her style of folk and rock-pop music. In early 2015, she released her tenth album, With the Sentimentals, and after touring Europe she is back in Texas this summer to perform and work on her next album.
