The League of Women Voters of Collin County invites the public to hear Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner present an overview of the Sheriff’s Office and discuss how issues of mental health and substance abuse are handled at the detention center.
Sheriff Skinner is a 25-year law enforcement veteran, trial attorney and former prosecutor. He was elected as Collin County’s 39th Sheriff in the 2016 General Election and his four-year term began on January 1, 2017.
This public meeting is part of LWV Collin County’s program to educate voters on the duties and responsibilities of elected officials. All attendees are invited to stay for LWV-CC’s Fall Membership Kickoff immediately following Sheriff Skinner’s address to learn what the League has planned for elections, studies and action programs for 2017-2018.
