A Light in Dark Places: A Collection of Plays for Hope features five original short plays during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month that crush taboos and illuminate hope and healing for people whose lives have been affected by suicide.
ALIDP’s producer and actress Kelly O’Malley is a Frisco native and a graduate of the renown Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles. She created ALIDP to transform the tragedy of losing her father in 2011 into hope for others whose lives have been affected by suicide. The non-profit that Kelly founded, A Light in Dark Places, presents ALIDP in partnership with TOPAchievers, a Plano-area faith-based sports development and academic support organization. TOPAchievers recently honored Kelly for her suicide prevention work with the John T. O’Malley Humanitarian Award.
